Modern cars are fitted with locking wheel nuts as standard. If your vehicle is fitted with a locking wheel nut, your wheels and rims are safe against theft.
Most cars are fitted with one locking wheel nut per wheel. Whilst the other wheel nuts can be easily removed with a lug wrench, the locking wheel nut requires a key. But it’s important to keep the key safe. Store it in the glove box or the boot with your tyre sealant kit.
Each set of locking wheel nuts is indented with a pattern, and the key matches this pattern. There are hundreds of different key configurations meaning a thief would need to carry a mind-boggling array of keys to steal your wheels!

You will need your key every time you use your spare wheel. Similarly, our technicians will require the key to repair or replace a tyre.
